About Me

My name is Christin Jow and I am a 6th and 7th grade math teacher at West Covina Unified School District.  I was born in California, but moved to Hong Kong when I was only 3 years old.  My family settled in Hong Kong for about 5 years before we decided to come back to the States.  Since then, I lived in Walnut and received both my Bachelors and Single Subject Credentials in Mathematics at Cal Poly Pomona.  When I am not teaching, I enjoy to travel, craft, and go to Disneyland.

I wouldn't consider myself as super high tech but I am a fast learner and can be tech savvy if I really want to.  I do appreciate and enjoy technology but is always afraid of information being lost.  I think that being a math person causes me to trust a pencil and paper more.

I am working on my Masters of Education Multimedia because technology is definitely moving fast into the classrooms.  We have so many new programs to learn and students are always talking about the latest technology.  I want to stay up to date with technology so that I do not fall too behind in the future.  My personal goal is to learn new ways to excite my students through technology.  I want to create some of my own resources to help my students.  A resource website, iBook, video,..etc., are all things that I want to accomplish through this program.
